Crocheters 3, Knitters 0

Friday night we went to Irish heritage night at the Ameriquest Field, the stadium formerly known as The Ballpark in Arlington. The Rangers went into extra innings but were not able to pull off a win. But they won both Saturday night and this afternoon. YEA!!!

Two weeks from spinning and I think I want to try it again. I knitted 34 yards of Picton, Texas wool. :) I hope to get to White Rock Weaving Center this week to try out a Louet. I used Becky's Ashford Elizabeth and I really enjoyed it.

My first knitting class was interesting. I had a crocheter who was concerned that she was knitting too tight. She proceeded to frog her first bits of knit many, many, many times. As a crocheter, she then proceeded to share with my two left-handed students how much easier it is to crochet than to knit. So, I think while I feel good about trying to share my interest and passion for knitting with others, I feel like I just sent three more to the crochet side. It's not a competition I know. I did manage to teach myself to cast on left-handed. Pretty neat.

Oh. And I have been approved as getting to participate in Secret Pal 9!!! I am so excited about this project. And I am also tempted to join the Zimmermania knitalong as well.

Next weekend is the DFW Knit Out and Crochet Too!

I am teaching a beginning knitting class and am leaning towards this perfect knitted bunny pattern from HeartStrings FiberArts.

Spinning Wheelers

Plan for Friday:
Work email is down. Lucky us. Our internet is still alive.
Order linens and rentals for CC on Wednesday.
Meeting with League historian to put together scrapbook.
Shop at scrapbook shop with League historian.
Wrap up odds and ends here.

Saturday, Olive and I will head to Winnsboro for time with Mom and Dad, and Becky Pickett.
Becky is going to teach me how to spin this weekend!!!! I know how to use a hand spindle, but now I will get to sit at a wheel. I am sooo excited. It will be a nice taste before I go to Davis for class in October.

Thursday's work day is coming to a close. I am thinking that the small cashmere wrap that I am finishing for the Rose's baby may need to be quickly re-knitted. It seems that the Crystal Palace 2 that I am using probably should have been a 3. Or maybe even a four. So I may just cut my losses, finish this one for a preemie charity, and begin again.

Also, I must stuff my grey felted sheep and send him to Dr. Preston for some good company.

Other projects on needles:
1. cap and booties for Amelie Sunshine Marks. (newest cousin.)
2. cap and booties for Lacy's soon-to-be born baby boy.
3. something lovely for new baby girl, Emerson, child of college friend, Janessa.

When did everyone decide to have kids at the same time?

Earl Grey

I began my very own Earl Grey Throw from Colinette Yarns. The colourway is Sea Breeze, #142. It has such a stunning color transition. I guess that is way to describe it. Here is a picture from one of the best lys we have in the Metroplex, The Woolie Ewe in Plano. The Woolie Ewe is one of the best things in Plano period.

This weekend was such a great weekend. My home is clean, we had a fantastic gathering with our friends, and now we are getting rain.

On Saturday night we hostes a going away party for two of our friends who are moving to London in a few weekes. We had such a great time. Friends who happened to be in town this weekend, wonderful friends who we haven't seen in a while, new friends, neighbors - it was such a great party.

This is what I am talking about. bunnie. bunnie.

bunnie. bunnie.

I must admit to being a slightly superstitious girl. First on the month. First of each month one must say rabbit, rabbit. I say bunnie, bunnie. I can't imagine that it makes a huge difference. Anyway, I must also admit that since I established this seemingly silly tradition, my life has markedly changed; most of the time for the better. So bunnie. Bunnie.

I have also found a delightful poster that I must purchase.

It is such a great reminder of one of the best movies I have seen in a very long time. And perhaps, it will remind me to check on my Scottie named Olive who might be nibbling on my slippers or something worse.
